Will Yuvraj Make a Comeback in ICC Champions Trophy for the team

How many of us remember the 13th of July 2002 where one youngster from the western region of India led the country to its most noteworthy win at the Lords? Yes, I'm talking about the Natwest Series which changed the approach of the Indian Cricket Team presenting a whole new magnitude of next generation cricket. Yuvraj Singh was certainly one of those young souls who recreated the way cricket was played and perceived in India.

In case you are unaware of 2002, lets present another distinct memory where Yuvraj proved his caliber one more time on an International Stage. No one will obliterate the ICC World Cup 2011 where a nation with billion dreams brought the trophy back home after 28 years. This would not have been possible without the immense commitment of Yuvraj which aided the Indian Team in laying its hands on the World Cup. Yuvraj was honored as the Man of the Tournament because of his sterling accomplishments in every match he played. The series saw him bag a total of 362 runs with an average of 113.66, assisted by a century and four half-centuries. Not a first-choice bowling option for the Indian Squad, when provided a chance, bagged a total of 15 wickets in the tournament as well.

Yuvraj has always answered his doubters and critics on the field. Off the pitch, he is reticent enough to react to controversies which succumbs the life of any celebrity. An all-rounder who can surely join the club of Indian cricketing legends such as Sachin and Saurav must be a priority for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as well. With records, unmatched and zeal unblemished this man will doubtlessly lead the front line with his vast experience if given a chance in the Champions Trophy this year. The only Indian to have proved himself in every significant tournament whether it be T20 or a 50 over world cup will provide maturity to the squad which is the only shortcoming of the Indian cricket team at this moment. Keeping him out of the squad is like keeping idols out of Hindu houses. The pivot of the Indian Cricket Team whose passion remains guileless will surely endure a positive vibe among the whole squad.
